Title: can this be true????
Post by: Starry on 22 March 2004, 19:34
have been on the rollers today with my ndbw 150bhp 1.8T. it has a miltek down pipe and hi flow cat and a front mount intercooler. with revo re-map. the thing is it's only putting out 190bhp and 209ft/lb. this is about the power output revo say you will get but not as much torque. the guy at revo said to me its down to the fact i have added the other mod's that the torque is down, and the bigger down pipe will reduce bhp. is this the case as he seems to be saying if had done no mod's other than the re-map i would be better off. other guys on here have the same excact same set up as me but no fmic and are getting 208bhp and 245 t. and they started with 150bhp but im not sure if they are ndbw's..

I take it you mean me, and yes mine is NDBW, but it's a different ECU to yours (see my frustrated posts) because of the cruise control. The software was brand new, literally a few days old, so all in all we don't have the exact same set up.
Having said that, the guys at stealth, and the revo technician who turned up to give a hand, were all surprised at my final output.

ps. meant to get the graphs scanned today but forgot to take them to work  :-\

if you could post the graphs that would be good to compare the two. im just a bit pi**ed of in spending ?1200 to be told it would have put out more power without the mod's. cheers

I can see where you're coming from mate, I was aware that the NDBW's weren't as tunable, but everyone was certain my extra power/torque was coming from the milltek parts, can't see how it'd have the opposite effect on yours ?  ???
Maybe it differs between ECU's, but something tells me they might have missed a fault or something. The 18bhp is neither here nor there, but a 35 lb ft difference in torque ?
I'll post the graphs tomorrow (if i remember), you might want to post on the revo forum and see if Kev has any answers that might help. Hope you get it sorted  8)

It was new because there was no software available for my ECU at all  :( that's why I had to wait so long to get it done  :-\
