Title: Plastic Side Trim Comming off
Post by: Goops on 29 December 2007, 18:24
Hi Guys,

I was giving the car a good wash today. Anyway..

I was waxing the side door and noticed that the plastic side trim on the driver side door (the smallest plastic trim near the door hinge, nearest to side indicator) was quite loose. It was almost coming off so i had a closer look. It was not held by anything, seems to have some remains of a black resin, there is small a rivet hole but i do not see how this would clip?? :undecided:

If anyone could shed some light that would be great.

I have bought some 6mm adhesive spacer pads, double sided adhesive tape for fixing number plates and was wondering if this would suffice??

Thanks in advace

Hi,

Did not see a peg on the underside of the trim?

I will check if the rivet hole has anything broken inside it,  :undecided: otherwise the double sided adhesive wil have to do!

Thanks,
G

If yours is the thin trim like mine then it has white pegs all along it...if it's the thicker stuff, not sure.

Infact, on the right hand side of the shorter trim you can just see the white peg in this pic:
