What do you think? I think its a major improvement, but I'm not sure about the red trim. Although I think it looks fantastic on other cars that aren't white, I think this one would look better with chrome trim.

Contacting NTL to get my 55Mb of free space from them.........Lycos are c**p tonight >:(

Engine is sorted don't you worry ;D ;D ;D
High lift cam, polished and ported, lightened and balanced, ?1500 spent in the last 2 years, not by me, I got it for ?100, with receipts.......... ;D ;D ;D, and that was why I gave my Mk2 bits away for free.........I did really well out of that deal..........and 'tinman', this'll give you an 8valver to beat, Its race tuned and now going into a cabrio, which is lighter than a Mk2.........and that was the fastest Mk2 I had ever driven when the engine was in that!!! :P :P :P

Guy I bought it off was gutted, he was on a ban and I just happened to notice this stoved in Mk2 on the side of the road, it was going to get towed away by the council if I hadn't have bought it!!!

You can sand off the red strip if you want.  Get the finest wet and dry sand paper and use that on it.  Oh yes use it wet makes it softer.  Doesnt look to bad.  Not one person noticed it on my old golf and I had that for 4 years.

i agree mate , the new grille looks  much better than that old white thing from the 80's.

looks much classier. the origianl items are always the best looking in my opinion.
is that a bbs kit i see on you're motor?

headlamp grill looks far better now,as for the red trim surround i had chrome trim surround at one time (the car came standard with this back in 1983) i was contemplating going back to chrome but cannot find all of the original pieces but i believe GPC do supply either red or chrome replacements

Cheers 'jonny boy'..........yes it is a BBS body kit along with a Zender front spoiler.........more styling from back in the 80's, but I'm keeping them on there, don't think they look too bad.

definately a good look mate, ; the old bbs kit. one of the first kits to be made for the mark 1, i reckon. used to know an old geezer about 10 years ago with one on his motor, looks as smart as it did when it first come out in my opinion. ;)
