Hi all, my name's Jon and I've been into dubs for about 11 years. Although its been mainly aircooled stuff, I do have a love for all things VW. My two main passions are Volkswagens and Triumph cars (hey, no-one's perfect eh?)
Me and my mates Craig and Rich run Coventry Aircooled Vee-Dub Club, and you may have seen our stand if you went to the NEC classic car show.
I currently run:
1967 Beetle based sand rail

1972 1303 Beetle, German look project - 1776 engine, porsche suspension, gearbox & brakes
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v511/jonnyspatter/fcfabebc.jpg)
1984 Mk2 gti
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v511/jonnyspatter/DSCF0304.jpg)
1990 Mk2 16v gti
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v511/jonnyspatter/DSCF1217.jpg)
1998 T4 van
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v511/jonnyspatter/DSCF0647.jpg)
I'm looking for info on early mk2 gtis as I'm about to start a resto on mine.
Trouble is, it'll have to wait a bit as its my only roadworthy car right now!
The rail has no motor, the 1303 needs finishing, and the valver and the van have both snapped cam belts! :undecided:

Welcome
Nice collection you are building up there. Sounds like a lot of work too.
Went to the Classic car show .....with the wife  and so must have seen your stand and took some pics. Don't be embarrased about the "Triumph" thing, My dad must have had 3 or 4 in his time and I still think the Stag looks really retro-cool.

Nice dubs and triumphs rock (I've got a big soft spot for Dolly Sprints). Not a NIN fan by any chance?

I am as a matter of fact!
Strange, but the Triumph fetish comes from my childhood. My dad always had Triumphs, and I guess I just inherited it. The Dub thing came from when my mate had a green beetle and painted it up like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Good man, I've been a huge fan since I was 12 (18 years ago) and finally managed to catch them live at Reading Festival this year. Blew me away and was worth the years waiting.

Yeah I saw them there too. Did they just wipe the floor with the Smashing Pumpkins or what?
Absolutely the best band of the weekend!
-
Completely. I only stayed for a couple of pumpkin tracks, decided it was boring and wandered off to watch The Hold Steady on the carling stage. Worst band of the weekend was the Chilis though, they sucked big time!

Hey up mate
Valver isnt up for sale is it ?
It might be, I'm trying to cut down my collection at the moment, and either the valver or the early one's got to go. I've promised my Scumball co-driver first refusal on it though, but if he doesn't want it I'll let you know.
