Title: intercooler size

i have just mounted a f/mout i/c to my 150bhp golf. the size of the pipes comming out of the intercooler are 51mm(2") and the i/c is around 3 times the size of the oe one. but as i was taking the old one off i saw that the pipes comming out were 53mm is this anything to stress about???? any help would be good. its going on the rolling road monday, should be intresting to see what revo re-map/baily dv/millek d.pipe hi flow cat/and the intercooler put out..

A couple of mill diff on the ID of the pipes will have little or no effect. The larger cooler will more than make up for the difference with its larger and less restricive core.

Oh, and let us know how you get on at the rolling road session. How much power are you looking for?. Fill the tank with optimax and pump the front tires up hard.

never thought of pumping up the front tyres. but it makes sense. as for what power im looking for a guy in the mk4 furum with the exact set up as me but no intercooler made 208.4bhp. so around that would be nice, ill let you know tonight...thanks for the advice.
