can anyone recommend a decent bodyshop in the Manchester/Northwest area, something flicked up and hit my car on the motorway last night. Not sure what it was thought it was a lump of ice at first, but looking at the damage its done I think it was something more solid. Its left two sharp dents just above the righthand front wheel arch and scratched it down to the primer. Not a happy teddy

Im down south so cant help. Had a scracth and dent on my car over the summer. Just to let you know its not cheap to get these things removed.
I was set back just under 200 notes to get this removed. Wouldnt have been more had it not been cash ;)

I was driving along the A14 couple of nights ago to Heathrow Airport and EXACTLY the same thing happenned to me. I heard a LOUD bang like someone had thrown a large stone on my car but there were no vehicles in front of me or a bridge that someone could have thrown something off. I briefly checked my windscreen when I got to Heathrow but didn't noticed anything as I was in a hurry to get to the plane. Will give it a thorough inspection when I get back to the UK  I'm having nightmares now after seeing that photo of the damaged silver wing above.

Ahh don't get too scared, that was done by a cvnt reversing out of a car park space next to me, and then hitting me and then driving off leavening me to find than when I returned to the car.

Feel your pain....................................
As you will see from the pics below, I had exactly the same with my drivers side wing. A large aggregates stone fell off the back of a lorry and smashed in to my wing causing the biggest chip Ive ever seen and a nice dent.
then about 2 weeks later, some **** reversed in to my drivers door, scuffed and scratched it with a nice big dent. £500 job all in all at my local VW dealer who mad a fantastic job of my bumper that was damaged in June, got it back from them a few days ago. Whoever did it drove off.......
Only gripes are that the colour match on the door seems to be not exact and the wing seems to have been "blended in" after repairing the dent and chip, which means there are places where its abit patchy. So I think Im going to have to complain as the bumper was such a good match and the door and wing arent as good. Also the wing part of the job came to £200, when the door was £300 (which included a dent removal and full respray and new strip). So for £200 i would expect a full respray not a blend!
anyways, hope these pics below dont make you feel ill like they do to me every time I see them

And that reminds me.. some guy who uses his fingers instead of a woman to pleasure himself hit my parked Ed30 and left a load of red paint behind on the front bumper on the drivers side. I only noticed it when leaving my car at work one day - it must have been dine the day or a couple of days before. Luckily, my stone chip protection did its work and protected the paintwork. Otherwise I would have had to take the car into a bodyshop and get the graze and paint removed. Just have to wipe the red paint off with some t-cut and all will be well. Best £500 I ever spent on the car and still not a stonechip in sight!

I feel for you Pulp.
Must have been something substantial to cause that damage

Rang VW this morning to complain about the crap colour match :embarassed:
Bloke who did it said he mixed it to the codes printed with the spare wheel. Ive been told by someone in the know that there is generally 3-4 shades of the paint your car has been painted in at the factory, if its being repaired, they have to get the correct code for the correct shade. Seems mine was too "light"
Im going back after Xmas to get it looked at again and repsrayed cos its looks like mickey mouse has painted it!
