Title: 215/45/17 wheels
Post by: Mr T on 18 December 2007, 19:44
hi

i'm new to here so if this a stupid question forgive me.
i have got a set of wheels with the multi fit stud pattern they came off my wife hyundai coupe, i know they will fit on  but with the tyre being so big will they fit on the car without rubbing on the arches.(my car is a 97 mark 3, 8v gti).
thanks
colin

Too high a profile mate! You could have 215/40's but not 45's!

Those tyres are about 5% out in radius so your speedo will read over. Whether they fit under the arches depends also on the offset and width of the wheels.

Not just that with the higher profile it makes them wider and they would then foul the struts, unless you spaced them out!
Then you would definitely foul on the rears, the front would depend on lowering, if standard you may get away with it.
