Title: Big Rear Bumpers - Adjustment
Post by: JC on 15 December 2007, 12:55
Right then, tinkering time on the car this afternoon and one thing that is annoying me it the rear nearside corner of the bumper looks like its droppped.

Is there any adjustments on the brackets ???? before i rip the arse end apart.

you can just make it out in this picture. It is about an inch MAx down on the left hand side

Thanks in advance

I think the kind of adjustment you're after will involve some "persuasion" of the brackets attached to the bumper. Take it off, there's 4 bolts holding each bumper on underneath, easy enough to spot. Once you have it off you'll see what's involved.

i had the same problem. in my case the bumper is not original vw so i had to put 3 washers where the outside bolt is screwed to lift it up.

Check the brackets on the actual bumper mine does the same at the front and it's because the bracket on the bumper is broken might be that , The problem  is though I'm not sure if you can buy these brackets

It could be that the car has been converted to big bumper but still has the small bumper clips? doubt it though as id have thought both sides would have dropped
