Title: Winter Wash
Post by: bennyboy on 14 December 2007, 12:16
Well i thought it was time to wash and clean the car inside and out . even though it was bloody cold   0.5 on the temp read out on the dash .
I used the auto glym stuff :- shampoo , super resin polish , then the extra gloss protection.
finding it hard to type as my hands are red from the cold.
I have taken a befor and after shot of the car with about 4 hours in between photos.

and

Just wondering has any one else done this sort of thing ready for winter with all the road grit & salt getting sprayed all over as im guessing this wont do the cars body work no good.

Fair play to you! I can't bear to put the effort into washing my car properly in the winter as there is so much salt and crap on the roads!  Mine gets the jetwash treatment I'm afraid!  Nice before and after pictures by the way!

mines got two coats of Collinite 915 wax on it; haven't washed mine for over a month but usually the grime just falls off

hoping to attack it tomorrow; will probably need two pre rinse routines  :undecided:

One reason why I haven't had the time is because I am so fussy about washing it that it takes me ages to rinse, wash, dry, clean the glass, apply wax, hoover and clean the interior, take off wax, apply some more wax, take off wax again, apply Autglym Extra gloss, make sure the alloys are sparkling, tyres have sheen on them etc... it just gets too much and I end up wondering where the day went.

Firstly, you stole my wheels    and secondly, will you come and clean mine please?!

Mine is absolutely shocking at the moment, the cold is just not appealing to attempt to go out and clean it these days. He'll get a wash xmas eve for an early xmas present and that's it
