Dude, you live in rural Oxfordshire, you won't be able to see a bloody thing on country roads at night in the dark, believe. Don't get smoked main lights.

 The H4 Xenon's I installed last night have not made much difference tbh, I feel ripped off £15
I think I would have been better off buying an uprated loom.

I bought 60/55w'ers which are the same wattage as the standard ones.
Are there any mods for headlamps which direct more of the light that usually goes upwards into the stratosphere toward the ground?

Compare yours to other cars, then feel  :embarassed: and  :undecided: and a bit of
Comparing the Golfs to the '07 Focus I am used to... (insert loudest scream EVER!)

Mine are good, but I have new hella lights, Phillips superbright bulbs and an uprated headlamp loom. get your aiming checked.

The loom is definately the way to go, as standard you only get something like 11v at the bulbs so it makes a big difference.

I'm also amazed by how quickly the general salt and dirt on the roads at this time of year really cuts down the brightness! Having to clean mine most days now.

^ True. I'm too lazy to do mine now, and I am discovering black wheels are the future in the winter.

I'm gonna nip outside quickly and wipe the outside down with baby wipes.
I'll do the inside on Saturday/Sunday when I pop my H3's in.

Not sure yet  Going to unscrew the grille to ge the H3 Xenons in and from there I'll see what I can do in terms of cleaning the inside.

Just put the xenons in the inner lamps, what an easy job!

After what other people said about having to remove the radiator and stuff... NO!
Just pop the bonnet and unscrew the grille and the clips on either end of the grille, then it's pretty straight forward.

As Haynes says, refitting it reversal of removal
