I am looking for insurance for my corrado in february next year. At this point it will be 3 years since a claim against my insurance that i lost that wasnt my fault. Some insurance companies dont ask for more than 3 years claims information, though most ask for 5. So this may sound obvious but as its over 3 years since the date of the accident in january if asked l dont need to decalre it ??
also, does anyone know any insurance other than footman james who only require 3 years claims info ??
cheers

I cant be sure, but im wil BELL and i think they asked for 3? Not sure though.
And if they ask for the previous 3 years, dont tell them, they ask for 3 years, thats what they get! Dont even mention you had it outside the 3 years unless asked!!!!!!
Otherwise you might aswell just eat your money.

Well as a broker we at HIC ask for 5years history, the majority of our underwriters only require info from the last 3years but a couple ask for 5years hence the question. tbh even if you are asked about 5years its usually unlikely that claims over 3years old will make much, if any difference.
I would just ring around as usual and answer the question that are asked, dont worry about 3/5years etc cos there are so many other factors involved that there is still a very good chance that an insurer who asks for 5years history may still be able to get you a better quote than one who just just asks for 3.
