Title: hello and help

hello people just got a mk2 driver and having a little bother with the clutch, there is zero free play and bite is right at the top thinking one of two things
1 clutch adjust probs
2 wrong cable ( too short)
any help would be appreciated in the way of a clutch adj diagram please  :grin:

Hi there, sounds like the symptoms of a buggered clutch to me, a test for that is to put it under some load in 5th (like accelerating in top gear on the m-way) and see if it slips. I know that there is normally some adjustment on the cable too but unless thats been altered since its last clutch I cant see that being the problem

That is normal!! :smiley: Mine is like it, a macanic had a look and said theres nothing wrong it is how it is made. You will get use to it :wink:

My MK 2 cluch biting point is quite high, compared too the Focus' clutch. You can feel it more when reversing using the clutch only, been on the m-ways quite a bit lately and she doesn't slip out from fifth gear, even when doing almost a tonne  :laugh:

if in doubt put a new manual adjust clutch cable on it for the price of them!
