I am thinking about getting a 30th edition golf ball style gear knob to replace the standard GTI six speed type. I guess they can be changed but I dont know how much of a job it is, or where to get a replacement gear knob from, I guess they might cost abit from VW.

i wouldnt waste the money. It would look out of place on the standard GTI. The standard one looks good anyway

I spotted that one on eBay, quite steep, that must be what it costs from VW. I spotted another that was more like a mk1 style gear knob but doesn't look right.

that looks quite retro & cool :cool:, would suit a std GTI better I think, the red stitching on the ED30 knob would look a bit out of place in the std GTI!
