Title: springy hose clamps
Post by: jammac on 07 December 2007, 20:29
I F*@KIN HATE THESE!!!!!

having had afew issues with knackered coolant pipes im going to halfords tomoz to get a full cars worth of jubilees clips to go with my new pipes as im getting abit pissed with spending as much time getting these little twits on/off as whatever job it is i want to do.

 I just use either pliers or mole grips to compress them, then slide the clip into the most convenient place to hold it - either further down the pipe or on the joint. Then recompress and slide it back into place when you're finished.

After a bit of practice it's easy now and i even find them less hassle than trying to get a screwdriver into an obscured jubilee clip.

Hi
What technique do you use to ease the old hoses off. I cant shift my heater hoses. Also can you put up a picture of the special pliers. Cheers.

a flat blade screwdriver, nothing too sharpe, ease under the pipe and work around it... a little persuasion should see it off... id upgrade samco style then it doesnt matter if you damage one lol
