Title: Aftermarket wheels-edition 30
Post by: T88OMM on 07 December 2007, 15:21
Has anyone got any pics of an ed30/GTI on aftermarket wheels? I want some ideas for styles and sizes as I am taking delivery of my new ed30 in january and I am not so sure about the pescara's.

there is a fella on here (gazgti!?) who has 19" BBS CH's on his grey ED30, look very nice, wait for him to post so you can see his sig. picture (or search some of the recent posts!)

The pescaras will probably grow on you, I didn't like them much when I looked at early pictures before ED30 was released, but as soon as I saw them in the 'flesh' I loved them!

Ive seen Gaz's car in the flesh and those wheels do look really nice, they are an option but are basically the same as the pescara, I maybe want something a little different.

I'm not just saying this because i've ordered a GTi but i honestly think the front splitter, side skirts and back bumper look better un-painted. The contrast between white and black looks awesome.
I've provisionally ordered mine in Diamond Black but seeing that i could almost be tempted to change my mind. The only thing stopping me is that my last 3 cars have all been white and fancied a bit of a change.

Eh? What's wrong with it? I'll agree it's possibly a bit too low but apart from that i think it looks fantastic, everyone to their own i guess.

you need something with dark (black, titanium-color) center, either original VW black Monzas or aftermarket black. I think silver is not purposeful enough on a white car, and white rims on a white car is just too much white.

correctomundo! THe contrast between black and white! That's one of the reasons I bought white E30 and bought it with black wheels. There is lots of contrast in the front, on the sides, and on the top (the black roof hatch).

I'm going to stick with the Pescaras on my new Ed30, but those black wheels with the white rim are the ones to get closest to tempting me to consider a change.

How much were they, by the way, and are they 18 or 19"?

I agree with the BBS LM fan club. Amazing wheels.. I've got BBS CH but only because i'm too cheap for LMs. They are a tad pricy.

On a different note, my local dealer has a set of genuine 18" BLACK monzas with tyre for £1000. I reckon that's a bargain. PM me if you want the details.

Very nice mate....i feel as if there is too much space inbetween the brake discs adn the rim...some bigger brakes would just make it look so much nicer
