What I want to know if any body has changed there standard dsg shifter to one out of a gti/r32,from what I can see you need to turn the lockout shaft 90 dergees. Is it possible to it apart do this or do you need to get the hole shift mechanism out of a gti/r32 ?

Welcome to the forum Rob

I haven't heard of anyone having done this before from this site. It is quite an unusual procedure to have to do. Are you thinking of doing this yourself?

Like you said, the only difference is the lockout button, but I can't really see that it would be much different underneath apart from maybe the connectors. If you went far enough into the shifter I'd lay bets that there would come a point where the connectors matched up to common parts. As for cost, I don't know :undecided:
