Title: 1.8t Water and oil pump......

iv been speakin to my mate this morning about the 1.8t engine...... he used to have the audi a3 so knows some stuff....

he says that between 98k and 103k the water and oil pumps go notoriouslly.....

is this true? and if so should i change it now? my 1.8t has covered 93k

any ideas?

Has yours had the cam belt done (I would hope so) if it has check the repciet to see if a water pump was done at the same time, otherwise it will be a costly job :(

my mate said he had the timing belt, oil and water pump done for 600.......... on his audi that is.....

how much would you say for all this on my golf?

cam belt and water pump should cost £200~£300 can't see an oil pump costing an extra £300

if you are getting it done, just make sure you use genuine parts
