Hi
ive just managed to get hold of my number plaque for my car saying its production number that was a bit of a nightmare as only one is only ever issued to each car and it took the dealers and vw nearly a week to find mine!
anyway now ive got this plaque there is a template but i have no idea where it is supposed to be stuck onto so if anyone can help me please?
Thanks
-
Not 100% i get confused between mk4 and 5, but i think it goes on the fuse bx door
-
I've seen a couple of anniversary's on ebay and the no. badges were stuck to the door-side of the two front seats. Dont know if thats the right place, but seen 2 or 3 photos of them there.
-
i thought they went above the fuse panel
-
On the fuse panel cover, seen on the side of the dash when you open the drivers door.
How did so many dealers manage to forget this?
-
thanks ill go and have a look at this later on!
well my car was never supplied with one in the first place and when i spoke to the dealers last week they didnt have a clue!
thanks for your help
-
Not doubting the last reply but i own an anni and can confirm thats the correct place. I u want i can post a photo?

Thats a very nice looking car  mine is the red one ill post a pic soon but my car has been in the wars as my stepdad was reversing his car on our drive and opened his car door into mine so it needs a whole new door at a grands worth of damage  so as soon as she is looking prestine again (hopefully in a couple of weeks!) ill post a pic up!
is yours the petrol or diesel version?

Looks like a petrol.
-
U guessed right! It had to be really. Costs a lot to run but i fancied this over the diesel. That wasn't a recent pic btw I have changed the alloys for the winter to avoid the salt corroding them. The previous owner was 52 years old  which reflect the 29000 it has on the clock. the alloys are in very good condition so i dunno what she did with them!wot u reckon to the different wheels?
let me know
Jon
-
They are nice looking wheels and good for the winter months but i do prefer the others (but im just fussy!) im glad its a petrol one no point in having a diesel mine is very expensive to run at the mo because the petrol price over here is 1.07 a litre!
leonie
-
Where bouts are you then? I saw the BP Ultimate at £1.17 a litre at the A43 services near banbury! Its so expensive lol ive put an induction kit on mine and get bout 32mpg if i drive like my grandad!I agree with you - the anni wheels are better just wanna keep them in gd condition. U done anything to yours?
Jon
-
Nice car mate! Wheels look ok but you cant beat those anni wheels IMO
-
Well im on the isle of man where everything is expensive!! but there is one advantage to living over here out of towns there are no speed limits so can use the car quite well! Not really done anything to mine jst put an induction kit on too i think car is averaging aroung the 28 mpg which is not too bad as i tend to have a heavy right foot!!
leonie
-
yeh true!thts gd havin no speed limits. mind you it is hard to tell over here sometimes!i wanna get mine remapped but my insurance wont allow as im only 19  i wonder how much more performance u'd get from it?do u know?u reckon u'd get ures remapped?
Jon
-
How hard is it to find a nice anni    iv now sold my own golf and can't find a nice anni pd150 with low miles
your looks very clean by the way !
Jonnys07..... will your insurence just not allow it or do you have to tell them  how much is it out of curiosity ?? im only 18 you see
-
Hi Jon
Im not sure about remapping mine and i really dont know abotu how much power etc it would gain
my insurance hast really been a prob and im only 22 but i was 20 when i was first insuring mine
if you find out the answer let me know
did you manage to get a pic of your plaques?
leonie
-
Oh yeah sorry forgot to do that! Will do it asap. I think the bhp would go up to about 225 the same roughly as a cupra, megane sport etc although don't quote me on performance figures etc.
My insurance was £1460 for a 19 y/o lad with 2 years NCB so it doesn't look too gd for an 18 year old but have a look and c wot u get. They wont insure me on it but i could technically do it without them knowing lol. They allowed my induction kit for £90. Is there nothing on the trader?I got mine from a trade garage in Birmingham. Probably paid too much for it but it has low mileage! Wot colour anni u after?Seen a few on flea bay recently. maybe worth a look?
Jon
-
You could do it and not tell them. But, if you are involved in an accident and someone dies, and they find out you have remapped your car and not told them (which they will), the phrase "being in the sh!t" doesn't come close.
-
And thats y im reluctant to do it. Also if i have a crash and want my car repaired, they won't pay out. Mind you, from previous experiences they never pay out anyway!
Jon
-
Microbunny,
As promised I have taken a couple of photos of the plaque. Im not sure how well they'll come out but I can take some more in daylight if needs be. Hope this helps.
p.s. excuse the state of the car its not normally that untidy!!

Jon
True, but it also depends on the type of crash and how bad it is. They don't check the ECU on every car that crashes.
-
Hi Jon
thanks for the pics they were fine and very useful so thanks alot  the number looks fairly low on it but couldnt quite tell what number is your car?
plus your car didnt look that untidy to me but it was dark!! its not as bad as mine at the mo as im waiting to get my door fixed and they will give it a full valet after that so hopefully that will be in about two weeks i cant wait to have two normal doors again with no extra corners
leonie
-
lol hope the whole door situation goes well for you. my number is 0890. n ures? I couldn't zoom in enough cos it was so dark it wouldn't focus on the bl**dy thing!
Jon
-
Hi Jon
my number is 1725 which is not a bad number but i would have liked one of the first 1000 but never mind im just happy ive got the anniversary edition!
thanks about the door i cant wait for it to be done either because i hate the thought of people looking at my car and thinking it was me who did it (and as im female alot of people would think that!!!)
