Title: MK4 Bad Boy Extension.....

has anyone seen the ABS plastic bad boy bonnet extension which goes across the lights and acroos the bottom of the bonnet?

Their mint and i dont fancy welding a bonnet on a new car.. especially not all the way across with the fear of warping the bonnet!!!!

does anyone know where they sell the ABS bonnet extensions??!

yeh thats the one! venom motorsport eh? i looked on there before but wasnt sure because it dusnt actually show you a pic of the product......

IMO I would stay away from abs as the colour match will be crap, just spend the extra dolla and pay for the metal one to be done properly, I am sure Venom do that one too.

I dont believe the Venom pic is using an abs one juding by the finish

well i got a pic off a german site of one on a silver golf which was red...... obviously it needs smoothing in and painting which isnt a problem coz im a wizz with bodywork. just6 i didnt want to weld it because its a big piece and could warp the bonnet so easily.... dont want to run the risk.

so i thought get the plastic one, tiger seal it to the bonnet then smooth it in and paint it! :wink:

If yo can paint it yourself then np, just be aware of how easily they crack on the join.

yeh will do! ill get it ordered this weekend.... ill probably reinforce it with fibreglass aswell!  :wink:

You're more worried about warping from welding than you are about having a crappy plastic extension? :laugh:

mk4 bonnet is tough as tanks mate, you'll only run into warping problems if you try to bodge it.

You can probably pick up a cheap bonnet from a scrappers for less than you pay for the stick on plastic thing.

yeh a mate said the same... ill get a scrap bonnet to do it on to give it a shot........ shouldnt be 2 much of a problem!

ill let u know how it goes!
