Title: Car wont start Again!
Post by: 16vmk3ash on 18 March 2004, 22:48
Right i dont know what the f*ck is going on, but the f*uckers dead!
Was running great today, came home from work fitted my new discs, went to take it out for a spin and nothing.

The engine briefly turned over, but then started acting as if i had a flat battery (clock reset it self etc.)!
So i put it on a fast charge for 1hr, went out to try it again and now none of the lights on the dash will even light up.

I have checked all the fuses and there fine, cant see any loose wires, so what the F*CK is going on?

Starter motor? or maybe god is saying these words

"never laugh at 8v's again ... they are faster than your none starting 16v"

LMAO ... just joking around.

on my battery charger there is a bar going up to 12. When i put it on charge it was reading 6, usually when the battery is full charged it will read around 2.

ohh and btw.. *do not* trust fuses just by looking at them

use a multimeter, i've gotten all pissed off, and had ones that had such a hairline crack u couldnt see it until u flexed the fuse

When i hooked it up to my charger it was reading 6, when i came back 1hr later it was reading about 6.2. it had actually lost power whilst it was been charged for some reason!

Also, the lights on the dash were working before i started charging the battery but not after!

very confusing.

battery losing charge v odd too..  i'd guess thats related to the dash thing, and hope its no more.

double check the charger connections and give it a go overnight if ur confident its safe to leave?

Right, had the RAC out today and the problem was the immobiliser on my Clifford Concept. So ive have had the immobiliser wires cut to get the car going again now i just need to get it fixed or replaced which aint gona be cheap!

ring clifford and tell them to sort it (if its an approved installation)

I bought the car with it already fitted and dont have any documentation for it!, i dont even know the exact model. Do cliffords come with a lifetime guarentee? if so is it tranferable?.
There is a clifford sticker on my window, with the name of the company that originally fitted the system. Should i contact them and see if they have any documentation or records of it been fited?

Another thing i took the car out tonight and because the immobiliser has been disabled, the alarm out enables every 15sec when driving, causing the alarm to go of, Very irritating!

umm.. they may come with a  guarantee, but not sure if its transferred with sale of car.

might be worth calling the place u have details of see what they say..

but is probably easier to book it into closest clifford dealer to you and get them to take a look at it.

only prob with those places is the hourly rate... eekk
