Title: Top Bloke in Bexleyheath.
Post by: mongchops on 04 December 2007, 20:22
Not got this blokes permission to put this on here but I'm sure that he won't mind a bit of free advertising.

While in the process of buying my first GTI, I asked the advice of the bloke who works at/owns Taber. It's a small garage in Bexleyheath specialising in VWs. He gave me good, free advice over the phone. When I got the GTI I took it to him to do the cam belt and other bits and to have a good look to see if anything else needed doing. He charged me a reasonable rate and didn't have me over. He has since given me more free advice about my sunroof issue. Nice to find some one genuine in the motor trade.

Took my Mk2 again last week for brakes on all four corners, a rocker box gasket change, sunroof repair and a pre MOT looksee. Cost me £190. Dunno if this is cheap but I'm satisfied with the work and he's a nice bloke.

Right booked in for yesterday for a pre-MOT check and I am absolutely delighted with the service I received from Dan, clearly a top bloke with great service.

He was honest and advised me well.

Thanks for the thread all - excellent.

Thanks to mongchops recommendation, i took my GTi to Dan, and he sorted my cambelt + waterpump and rear axle bushes in no time, and for a good price too!  :smug:

I would definitely recommend him too, nice guy, gave me some free advice on another niggle the car had too.

This is a brilliant thread. I live in Belvedere and I will be picking up my MK5 GTi this Saturday. My Miss' lives in Mayplace Road East so its only moments away from hers. Great to see so many GTi owners in my area too.

So im guessing the Beadles stealer/dealer in Dartford is no good?

Would you guys recomend going to Dan in Barnehurst for a service when it comes round to it, or would it be better off get a true VW stamp in the service book?

One last thing, if you see a Dark Blue 3 door 05 GTi driving around the area give us a toot.

Dan's brilliant with VAG, he knows them very well, you can just openly talk to him and he won't beat round the bush, nor will he mkle excuses like, "oh it could be this that and that", plus his rates are honest and good, from my experience.

Down erith, you are not on about Hayes engineering?

I've done, eastern dubs, never again! The meet is small and very unintresting. Use to do q lot of lakeside and excel on weelend and bank holiday meets. Part from that there's not a lot local.
