I need to change the batterys in my key fob remotes. Now what battery do i need? If i take the battery out will it lose its immobiliser code? Should i take it to the dealers and get robbed blind  Cheers Rich.

i have changed the batt on mine and it worked fine after?
-
AFAIK the immobilizers is done on a chip so wont be lost even if you're really slow changing the bat, the bats you need as CR2032
vag parts actually sell genuine ones at quite a good price, you can get CR2032's pretty much everywhere though.

I changed min with no problem. Think the battery was soemthing like 50p in Maplins.

I just opend the batt case up and ive got two batterys, with the number "cr 1620" thay are panasonic ones. Do i need two cr 1620 then?? Not CR2032??

well the CR1620 is 3v and so is the CR2032 is 3v also so 2 CR1620's would give you 6v
every key fob i've seen has only ever had a CR2032 in so sounds like someone has bodged that key
