A friend of mine has broken off the door mirror cover on a mk4. Ive already asked you guys about taking the covers off because i was going to paint mine.(IIRC someone said its hard not to snap the clips) Anyway i can get a new cover for £18. My question is are thay as hard to fit as thay are to get off, IE: am i likely to snap the clips putting a new one on?? Any help would be cool

can i ask where your getting them from for £18, cheapest i could find was about £40 but that included the glass which i don't need. also does anyone know how much roughly it costs to paint two of them? cheers
p.s sorry to hijak your post
-
Yeah £18 is just for the platic cover in primer mate. £40 for the whole mirror sounds about right. If you take it to a paint shop Your looking at about £30-40 each side. Why not do it yourself- get a spray paint mixed up from halfords from your paint code for £10.99.

Anyways can anyone help with my original question??
you should know better than that, threads always go off topic here
as far as i know they are easier to put on than to get off, as the cover should slide over and clip in place.

iv herd that you can put lupo mirrors on with a bit of modding, there look nice and small.

changing the question slightly, ive brought a complete wing mirror unit 4 mine, whats the best way off doing it? the bloke in the garage said they were easy, just 3 bolts and away u go? is that true? also does the glass just stick in?
