Hi all
I have never had so much trouble to change a bulb in my life, i just cant get my hand in there! where am i going wrong??? any one got any instructions??
-
Ha haa yeah you need hands like a child!!! It is possible but very tricky, If you cant do it you might want to take it to a garage like i did!!! There's a plastic panel above the light unit that you can unscrew to get more room. You could always take the bumper off and take the headlight out....

just take off the bumper and get the headlight out is alot easier and much faster ..... and most probably faster to change it too .....
-
yeah you need either really small hands or take the bumper off, the passenger side is easier as you can take the battery out
-
just need to take your time; there is a metal clip which needs to be pinched in and then pulled out; bulb then comes out and can only go back in one way.
-
Thats ridiculous another return to dealer issue :(
-
i will take it to halfords, that one will make them think, for £3 fitting

Ha haaha haaaa. Total legend!!! Take my bumper off for £3 haaaa

Halfords don't change bulbs on Mk4's.......as they are too difficult. The prat told me it was a specialised job for the dealer. Unless its dead easy they won't do it.

taking the bumper off is litterally a 30 minute job and a monkey could do it
IIRC its something like 6 bolts and 6 screws, job done
-
As said bumper off/on headlight in/out is an hours job max for a first timer
Follow these instructions

it the same on most modern cars though (unless you buy the poverty spec size engine) just be thankful that the golf bumper is so easy to remove
