I have just bought a Golf GTI MKIV 1.8t and would like to add an active sub box.
I have found a thread with where to route the cable through the bulkhead but would like to know where the best place is to pull the carpet up to route the RCA/Speaker and power cables.
If anyone has pictures that would be a great help too

Wel general rule of thumb..most people would tend to route power cable down one side and then RCA/Phono's down the other with the remote wire!
So guessing that u have managed to get the power cable through the bulk head on the passenger side....perhaps attempt to temporarily remove the door rubber seals which will the reveal a gap to channel the thick power cable through!....it may become a bitv a game wen u get to the B pillar base. even if it means removing screw teporarily that holds the plastic moulds in place...then do so...n pulling seats down at the rear isnt difficult so getting it through into the boot would be a breeze!
getting the power cable through the bulkhead is always the most difficult part i shoud think...rest of it is a breeze..."my theory anyway."

I have the same car! The power from the battery comes through the factory grommet on the passenger side firewall, under the plastic cover for the pipes/ cables behind the airbox. You may hae to take out the glovebox to actually ge the cable through, under the carpet.
As for the interior wires, the channels down the side of the car are big enough for most installs. To keep it simple, i would run the power and speaker cables on the passenger side and the phonos down the middle (ideal) or on the drivers side, a little easier.
