Got it yesterday and its feckin brilliant, everything i wanted and more, been calm and running it in as per the guide here, but couldn't resist a brief blast against a Focus ST(bye).
got the ipod connection, armrest, lux pack.my prev car was 56 plate MKII Leon FR TDi 2.0dpf, it was good and we were having second thoughts about getting rid of it but not know, feck petrol consumption! it oozes quality.well worth the cash.
It came with Conti tyres some posts like them others hate them, been ok so far in the wet, but then i havent been pushing it much although the esp light came on while baiting the ST lol.
anyway am off for a night drive.

one question to everyone: do your wives/husbands/whatever think you're mad when you start taking photos of your car to post onto the internet?? my gf looked at me like i was not all there.....then she sat in the car of course.............but still what's the consensus

personally i am all for the pursuit of the perfect photo

She could have at least used ESSO Supreme

I tend to vary between V-power and Ultimate depending on which one I pass. I haven't noticed any difference between the two TBH, although V-power boasts 99ron and Ultimate and Supreme are 97ron. :undecided:

IMO V-power's gives best results, it just feels crisper

Gaz i take it you need to fill up all the time with a high oct fuel for your map?
I am going to get a remap after the year and a few of the tesco's have strated selling a high oct fuel now.my tuner was always getting onto me for using bog standard unleaded in my Mk4 gti that was mapped.

Post by: gazbutmk5gti on 06 December 2007, 22:57
yes high octane all the time, when you have the APR remap there is an option for regular fuel or super unleaded, as I always used V-power anyway I went for that one. If you read the handbook VW handbook it recommends super unleaded anyway for the tfsi engine.

So what happens when you use standard bog stanard fuel when your car is remapped?

Bad for the car and its performance?

bad for the performance don't think its bad for the car, the ECU just pulls everything back to suit, and takes the edge of the performance I think. I'm very careful to put V-power or super unleaded at least in.
