Horrors of horrors ive kurbed one of my 18" wheels on my Golf, luckily for me it was going to be replaced as I picked it up from the dealers with a mark on it, apparently there's been a bad batch of wheels?
The bad thing is there is a cut in the side wall of the tyre, does anyone have an idea of the cost of a new Continental 225/40 18" tyre? I would guess at around £100-£150 price mark.

£117 from Mytyres.co.uk

must be a bad cut to require a new tyre! how hard did you hit the kerb!? My Missis kerbed a wheel on my old R quite badly, really scrubbed the rim and had a chunk of rubber, I never replaced the tyre and never had any issues with it...
regarding contis, I need two new fronts at the mo and best I've found fitted is £140 each. Kwik-fit are doing a special on Pirelli (P-somethings!?), £108 IIRC, online prices are much better but I can't fit 'em myself!

The tyre is probably OK as its not loosing air but, it could fail.
All this because some daft bugger can't drive their Mondeo and cut corners at junctions.

Try blackcircles.com - usually very competitve and deliver tyres to a network of approved fitters nearest to where you live
