Hi
My names Steve and I am from Dalton-in-Furness in Cumbria.
I have always liked VW's from a young age, especially the Golf, my dad has had 13 up to know and he brainwashed me at a young age. I'm now 21, out of my apprenticship and have bought my third VW, my first GTI Golf!
I bought it new from my local VW dealer, Hadwins of Lindale, after trading in my 2005 1.2 Polo (not a bad little car to be honest).
The car is a standard GTI in Steel Grey, and is speced with 18" alloys, much better than the 17", although both would be an improvement to the 14's on my old polo.
Insurance is reasonable, and after having it 4 days I have put 300 miles on it, and loved every mile, who needs Porsches and Ferraris!
Would still like a Mk1 though!

You seem to have done alright there ! I come out of my apprentaship last year and I am still struggling to pay for the insurance + my MK4. Fair play to you !

I'm insured with Churchill if you haven't tried them. VW insurance, (Zurich) wanted over £3000, Churchil have quoted around £900.

Wheres the logic in that :(
20 / MK4 2.0 GTi / London / 0 NCB / TPO / £1200
Admitably it does go down LOADS when im 21 in April.

It's probably a lower insurance group up here. I live in a good part of the area, the worst thing to happen in our street is that some tyres were slashed about 5, 6 years ago, didn't happen to us though. Although if it did happen I'll be dreading the bill for the tyres.
