if you fit 16's or 17's without lowing it it looks ready for off road!
yes they scrub like f**k and yes you need the arches rolled else your tyres won't last long and when you steer into a tight corner you'll rip the arch off.

i have 215 / 40 / 16 on my golf they dont hit the rears
but i have noticed that there starting to rub the inside back of the wheel arch on the front........why this is i dont know because they dont hit the back of the arch on full lock but there is rub marks there???....... they have been on 2 year and only recentrly have i got this problem....... ??? probibly something worn on steering......?
other that that no problems.......... and its lowered 35mm!

mine's lowered -60mm btw ;D
and the ride isn't harsh. it hasn't scrubbed for a while, but before I had the arches done you couldn't drive it.

Mine got 16 x 7.5s with 195 45 16 tyres on it, its lowered about 60mm on coilies and the wheels scrubbed up front on the plastic arch liner. So decided to attack wheel arches with an angle grinder and cut away the lip at the top, then cut away some of the plastic liner. Rust protected the arch and fitted G60 plastic arch covers, hey presto, no rubbing.
To stop catching at the back you simply need to hammer in the metal notch that sticks out a tad.
Oh yeah, will be going lower for the shows too ;D

16x7 League Fin's on mine with 205/45-16's and standard ride height for my 16v with no problems. Probably go about 40-50 down this summer. Right now I have zero rub going lock to lock and no rub in the back. I am running 5mm spacers all the way around to set the wheels out a bit more though. :)

i'm running seventeens and loweered 40mm it runs fine when im driving on my own but if i have a passnger i have to be careful of driving fast over divots and bumps in the road. As for anyone sitting in the back.......thats a big no no. I once gave 4 people a lift down the road from the local pub and it scrubbed like f**k.
