Fancy a change from the plain, tired 'green' look....
Sony CD player is all back lit red & being a 16V I figured I go with that.
Can anyone point me in the direction of what I need to do it?
Bulbs for all the switches - sunroof, electric windows, dash clocks etc.
Filter for the LCD displays?!?
Anything else I need, cheap as chips is my budget!
-
Alright mate.. Ive done this and its quite easy you will need some leds and resistors i got mine from here http://www.ultraleds.co.uk There cheap as chips.
I needed two of these for my clocks (not done the filters yet) http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/u509tbf-509t-twist-bulb-custom-super-blue-frosted-p-833.html
And these for the switches these http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/frosted-4500-leds-p-1027.html
You will also need some resistors http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/shopping_cart.php/sort/2a
Obviously a slolderin iron and solder too
Hope this helps..
Its worth the work mate

Perfect. Did you do blue or red?

Looks good, MKII though? Any chance of a scan/copy of the instructions? Would be useful if I end up putting the kit together myself!

'Scuse my electro-ignorance...
Do you still need resistors if the LEDs are already 12v ?? I'm thinking of putting in green LEDs to be original but BRIGHTER!
Chris_MC... If you can be bothered, could you post up the instructions?

Have I read on here about changing the filter on the LCD displays so that the figures show red against a black background?
That would be cool!

You need the resistors because the small LED's you need that fit into the switches are the wrong voltage

Is there a website or something dude?
-
Quality, thanks Chris.

just done all kine, red switches blue and UV clocks, lit up to perfection :)
although i hit a problem
as im running late spec annie clocks 1997 i think they are, they dont have filters in the LCD displays on the clocks and are a sealed unit theirfore cannot be changed so easy if at all. i had my clocks in bits but still could not get to the leds which are in fact SMD type, the displays on my old clocks were torq bolted in and easy to remove, they have a green filter inside, shame my new clocks dont but they do look awesome even with the green displays.
will post pics up later of all what i did
