Title: used ED30 price?
Post by: bengti30 on 24 November 2007, 16:37
i am currently selling my ed30, red, 56 (jan07) as i have a job with a co car.  dont want to sell but cant justify keeping it.  i have only done 9600 miles, it is in top condition inside and out. its on here, been on flea bay and is now in autotrader but not getting much interest.  what do ppl reckon i should sell it for?  20k? 19.5k?

any comments would be great....

Have you asked a dealer for a trade price to take it off you. Generally they ask for around £1k to £2k under the retail price and the private price is between the two :nerd:

Simonet on here has recently been trying to sell his at around £19.5k, but I think his may have been slightly lower miles and a bit newer.

I would say it's the wrong time of year to sell. I've struggled to sell mine and other than silly offers, no one wanted it. I spoke to 3 dealers, 1 didn't return my call, one said not interested and the other after saying he'd come back to me if interested (at trade price) didn't!!

In the end I have got the deal I wanted for the right car and worked out at £20k for mine (07 plate with just shy of 9K miles)

But.... being realistic they will have had money in the car I bought so who only knows how much I got!!

For interest, I was offered £17.5K, £18.5K and a guy from here turned down my £19.5K for a cheaper Standard GTi.

For all that don't need a car... hold on to it, I would if I could of....... I may buy another some day...

Dude

That's a nice car you've got there..... saw your updated price in the classifieds.

I'd also suggest you stick a free ad (with pics) on www.pistonheads.com as at it will be the cheapest Ed30 on there by a country mile at £19.5k.

Good luck.
