I put on the mk3 style door handles and I closed my door and now it won’t open now, what can I do?
-
Panic
Have you done all the doors at once?
Only other thing you could do is climb in through the boot and open it from the inside and sort the problem out
-
why would you do this lol, love mk2 door handles myself
looks like your gonna be going through the boot, lol.
-
Dick head of the day goes to.........
Nah only joking! Like has been said, get in the boot or the other door?
-
haha ill take that plz.
hmm thing is they wont open from the inside and i look like a right dick getting out my boot so i need 2 fix it 2moz or i might cry.

What exactly was involved in putting these handles on? Did you remove the door cards, if so are they still off?
-
not much a screw driver.nope and nope im ducked aint i!
-
Short of cutting a door card i can't really think of anything.......
-
might ripe the cheap handles off.
-
do you have central locking?
-
no
-
If you cut the door cards out, can you get to the right bits in the door to open it easily?
I don't understand how it won't open form the inside?

might have to do that opps. any one got some blue and yellow door cards for sale.
-
i fitted these to an old golf. there is ajustments on the bit that pushes down on catch if these are wound right in it dont reach the catch.. i try mine before shuting door.. should open door from inside remove handle and ajust them!!
-
Whoop all fixed now, some 15 pound door handles cost me my door cards. Lesson there is never change the door handles!!!
-
Could of wound down the window and gone dukes of hazard! lol
-
you just had to tinker didn't ya!
if only you had left it alone!!!

-
mk2 ones?aint you already got them. haha sorry.
-
Unscrew the lick pin, and you can lift up the top of the door card and you should be able to fit your hand in the door behind the door card...
-
iirc you cant actually fit genuine vw mk3 handles to the mk2 doors as i think the mechansisms are different
