can you adjust the headlights yourself? mine point down too much and i want to raise them up a tad.
-
Not sure. CAnt help. Sorry

Factory Xenons are self levelling and AFAIK, can only be adjusted by a dealer. Not a DIY job. You can self-adjust for RHD and LHD though. Link here:

I have Xenons and occasionally get flashed from other drivers, but the lights are correctly set, they are just brighter and this confuses some people

you should be able to do it with VAGCOM
the MK4 xenons were fully adjustable using fine tuning screw (you could adjust horizontal / vertical)
if i was you i'd either find someone with VAGCOM or go to the stealer

I get flashed all the time in the Ed30 whereas in the S3 no-one flashed me ever. They must be much brighter or set a tad bit higher in the golf than the Audi.
Very annoying when this happens and I may resort to some double digit action on these mofos if it continues - don't say I didn't warn anyone

i aint been flashed and they hardly shine on the car in front.. infact they dont really reach the number plate unless im a meter from the car... they are too low i think, i told the dealer looks like they moved em down more!!

HATE people who have xeon lights too high, does my nut it, its like they have their full beam on.
-
well mines more so i can actually see whats going on in front of me, not just on the floor! lol
are they only adjusted thought a computer then?

I dont know this for a fact, but it would make sence. Otherwise any tom dick and harry could adjust it and blind everyone.

like i said earlier the MK4 ones were adjustable either through software or using a torx driver, i'd expect the MK5 to be the same. becuase the sensor is only going to do up and down, so you would need some way to adjust side to side.
have you looked at the back of the cluster to see if there are any screws / adjusters?
-
nope but i will and report :p

Can't remember off the top of my head but on the top of the light housing, there is a hexagonal nut/ hole with U and D on. Self-explanatory, turn one way for UP and the other way for DOWN.
Mine were too high, so high that the drivers in front had to flick there anti-dazzle mirror on. Moved then both half-a-turn downwards and all is okay.

nice one, been raining all day so will check when dry :D

Mine are just above the number plate/below the rear window of a mkv golf at a safe distance.

im sure mind arnt right then...
there was a r32 behind me the other day, and the zenons from that shined enough into the cabin, so his were DEFO much higher thaen mine

As mentioned above, 6 mm hex driver and adjust up or down, best lined up on the flat against a wall or garage door. This also works for driving on the continent, usually 1.5 to 2 turns from normal setting, but it only takes the beam pattern from flicking up on the left (ie highlighting the kerb) to flat, it does not then flick up on the right, but saves truck loads of cash going to the stealer.

both the MK4 and MK5 xenons have a switch to set them for LHD / RHD but you really need hands the size of a small child to switch it with the cluster in place.

Wouldn't be the same problem the MK4's, A3's and S3's suffer where the self levelling motor gives up and they keep pointing to the floor. I had this problem on my S3 twice and seems to be a very common fault with the guys across on the Audi forum. IIRC the motors are about £40 each

just to confirm, at the back of the xenons there is a screw with U <--> D, up and down...
cheers
