Title: Wheel Bolts - alloys / steelies.
Post by: JC on 21 November 2007, 14:04
Following the successful removal of 3 out of the 4 ( gator grip socket then exploded, new one on order, car didnt come with the correct key  :lipsrsealed: )  locking wheel bolts I need to replace them.

Are wheel bolts the same for steel wheels as they are for Alloys, namely BBS RA's ? ? ? ? ? ?

Thanks in advance

I think that some RA's need longer bolts. I may be wrong though....

had all 12 remaining bolts out of the valver tonight, cleaned them all up etc.

same length as the ones on the driver , same markings etc so looks like they will be fine

std VW aloy wheels use the same bolts as the steelies.  however earlier VWs had shorter wheel bolts :)
If the thread on your boltss are 23.5mm long then they are the correct type for the bbs ras.
