1d say between 140k- 160k ive heard of 3 going between 142-155k. This seams to be the general milage they go and heard of most going in this period from queries of cars for sale. I have alough seen a 170k on original turbo. This seams to be the general milage they go
What is your milage? if it was me id wouldnt be to worried if 135k or under. With mechanicles it can be russian roulette though with cars.
-
its about 115k at the mo, so hopefully alot left in the ol gyal! these repleies have made me feel better!
i know what you mean about russian roulette i had a polo mkV before and she was a nightmare never stopped f**king up! had low miles as well! Oh well i just hope my luck holds out!

The turbo won't last forever. Help it live longer by warming up/cooling down the engine properly.

turbo's can fail at anytime really  as topher says, treat the engine with respect and you'll prolong its life. I reckon anytime after 150K the turbo will be at most risk from failure. always a good excuse to buy a bigger one though
