Title: Eibach springs.
Post by: richw911 on 20 November 2007, 18:29
Been looking at getting some eibach springs (pro kit) Now ive always thought, and have always been told that if you use lowering springs that you need to replace the shocks aswell.

However eibach claim that when using their springs this is not the case and "Thay will work in harmony with standard vw shocks"

I have looked this up on other sites and some people say thay this is true and others say that the shocks wear out really quickly and go " bouncy".  :undecided:

Anyone with experience your thoughts please.

If i do need to get new shocks what would work best with the eibach??

Well i have to say that i've just put my original springs back on after a few months with Mr Eibach.
The ride was sh!t, i felt every bump in the road and yeah the car looked good but i'd rather not be using a zimmer frame by the time i'm 30!

Yes by the way standard vw shocks work fine and they don't wear any faster.

They are designed around the OE shock.  They'll be fine, mate. :afro:
