Title: which engine?
Post by: NixGTI on 20 November 2007, 15:49
Hi guys,

I've just ordered a ported throttle body and exhaust manifold, it's for a 8v PB engine...

now i'm asuming i have a PB engine!
It's a '91 GTi 8V 5 dr. would all of these be PB engines? could someone post a pic of one so i can be sure? did a quick search but couldnt find one!

Cheers

Yeah that'll be the right one

The pb engine runs the Digifant injection, as can be seen in this link:

phew, good.

not a great loss if it wasnt right tho. £70 delivered (£15P&P). granted they are 2nd hand. but worth the risk i reckon.

what sorta gains do you think i'll get from it? it's pretty much a standard engine. expect a drilled airbox and pipercross panel filter.

Maybe better throttle response, cerainally greater perception (more air for less "push"). There are cheaper gains.

Leave the airbox alone.
