Title: Buzzing noise from front left over 50mph
Post by: Brother_J on 16 March 2004, 09:12
Ok here?s the problem I get a buzzing noise from the front left of the car (MkII gti G reg) when I get to about 50 mph and the faster I go the louder it gets. The noise stops when I turn left. Any ideas!

can you feel it through the steering wheel?

Had a similar problem - turned out to be a loose w'screen trim, check it out...

Does it go away if you take the car out of gear and 'coast' along at speed?

The noise stays if I push the clutch in. I haven't tried tacking it out of gear but I think it will still be there, I?ll try it. and let you know. As for feel it through the steering wheel a little yes.

could be the weel bearing, or the cv joint about to die

sounds like it could be the wheel bearing? you could try jacking the front up holding the front left road wheel top and bottom and giving it a wiggle to see if there's any movement... ;)

That?s what i thought! But thought I?d get a second opinion. So the next question is where is there a good garage in the sevenoaks area, new to the area and have not had any time to check out the local garages yet.
