At the moment my MK2 GTI is totally standard audio wise. I'm looking to lay the foundations of a new system. I have around £220 and was thinking about buying the following, what do you guys reckon...........
Pioneer Head Unit
http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/5697.html
seems to have all the features I need particularly the 2 preouts.
Infinity Reference Components ( witht the 13cm's in the door pockets)
http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3828.html
And finally possibly some 6X4's to replace the rubbish ones in the back

This is just the basis, in the coming months I would add to the system with an amp for the components/6x4's and a 10 or 12 inch sub with mono amp in the boot.
So what do you guys reckon? All my mates have 6x9's and wont listen when I tell them components are better, they reply with "6x9's are louder". It s not all about loudness I tell them in vain lol
PS. I know I will have to dynamat the doors etc. and btw the price is minus VAT cos i'm in the channel islands

Head unit looks good I'd go for kappa if you go for Infinity as they are a much cleaner sound and better quality. Reference is the budget version. If your seriously into your quality save up some more cash and buy Cliff Design or focal components :)
