Why not to your taste? :undecided:
-
bit drony at about 2800/3000rpm....its been apr's and had coilovers which i am really happy with, but the exhaust was a bit much..i use it to travel too and from work, and it got tiresome....
if i want noise, i get my CSL out the garage...has 100 cell cats and a supersprint centre pipe!!
its cheap at 200 quid! cost me miles more from awesome.

whats non res mean
-
Non resonated. You can get either resonated or non resonated Milltek's and each has a different sound. See the link below and at the bottom of the page are video's with sound clips of both

lol ok, vids wernt great, but im guessing the res zorst is louder/burbly and the non res is quieter?
-
Jonathon - Did you know you can swop the centre pipe for a Milltek Resonated box? Makes it quieter.
Mine was 'droney' at about 3 - 3,200 revs for a bit but has matured nicely. It's well known that the Milltek's sound matures.

....No - The Non-Resonated is louder. The Resonated resonates using a 'silencer' to make it quieter. The differences are all quite subtle and none of the Milltek xzorsts sound at all 'boy-racer' baked bean can!!
-
lmfao. well there i go. thanks ! always wondered.. lol

....With mods it's often a matter of waiting for the right person to come along but then you'll find they won't quibble and it'll be a smooth sale.

-
would you take £150??
....At the risk of making myself unpopular with you joe, that's pretty cheeky! Millteks are aircraft quality stainless steel throughout and guaranteed for the life on the first fitted vehicle, though not guaranteed second-hand I know that Milltek stand behind their products.

so..... i was only asking

How about £100
This is the start of a bidding war... only thing is, its going in the wrong direction

By the way, before anyone jumps on my head, my last post isn't meant to be taken seriously. It is what is known as a joke in common parlance :lipsrsealed:
I am sure you'ill get a decent price for it Johnathan, for what is a decent bit of kit. Actually I was tempted myself though not sure what I'd do with it as it wouldn't be going on my Ed30 thats for sure.. maybe a garage ornament like the other parts I have in my garage :embarassed:

At the risk of appearing ignorant, what is the difference between the stock and the Miltek systems from the Cat back to the tail pipes ?
I understand that the material is higher grade but is that it or are there any other differences - diameter, noise etc ?
Do Miltek claim performance improvements for this Cat back system, or only when the high flow downpipe and Cat are installed ?
-
I've never seen specific claims from Milltek for any of their systems - be they full or cat-back. The ED30 development one (full system) achieved 18bhp over standard exhaust on the rolling road.

Really?! I'll have that thankyou    As long as it is nice and well behaved like the standard exhaust. I hate loud aftermarket exhausts. Think I'd have to hear one in action before ever deciding to put it on otherwise it might end up for sale here at a cheap price :lipsrsealed:

Exactly! i already feel like a bit of a chav when I accidentaly rev the engine a little too much. The exhaust sounds just fine as it is.. more power? Yes! More noise?? No thanks

....I wish I had £1 for every time I've explained Millteks.
- Construction of ALL Millteks is high-grade Stainless Steel throughout and they are guaranteed for however long you own your car.
- Without a remap, bhp gains are insignificant (about 5 bhp) but there will be improved throttle response.
- With a remap, bhp gains may contribute 15-20 bhp, especially with the Hi-flow+Downpipe aka Turbo-back.
- Resonated version is only slightly 'noisier' than stock.
- Non-Resonated version is only slightly louder again by a similar increment/difference.
- Milltek exhausts sound sporty but never 'boy-racer' and only louder when engine is working harder. In my opinion the Mk5 cabin is far too soundproofed and hearing what your engine is up to is a real driving aid. For example, when my plugs needed changing I could hear it was an ignition problem.

Thanks (again) for the info Robin, but I don't think it answers the specific questions that I asked earlier today - maybe you missed them:
"At the risk of appearing ignorant, what is the difference between the stock and the Miltek systems from the Cat back to the tail pipes ?
I understand that the material is higher grade but is that it or are there any other differences - diameter, noise etc ?

Thanks for any feedback.
