-
id rather have mine than a 1.4 16v!!!!!
Im 99% my next car will be a MK4 but it'll have to be the turbo or R32 (if i get rich)
-
so there was no 2.0 16v in the MK4, how cr@p is that
I like the 1.8t MK4 or at a push if moneys get tight the GT TDi 150bhp please.
Jizzam Blue,,,, sorry Jazz Blue.
I like my Golf, its my first VW and I like the MK4, the red blue dash is great.

dont think they wanted a 2.0 16v as it would have been to close to the 1.8t.......

I think the 1.8t is lower insurance than the MK3 2.0 16v as well, small bonus there.

and more tuneable!!!!! and its a TURBO
-
SLAP A BIG TURBO ON IT WOOF WOOF WOOF!
-
i just need to raise the £2k + sell my car and i should be able to get a good sensible mileage fairly early 1 with Recaro's..........
-
there is a 2.0 16v GTI Mk4, over the water however the TDI's and 2.0's are known as highlines so not quite GTI's lol, i have a 1.8t and its in my top 3 cars owned defo!! there is a 1.8 non turbo but most folk i know that own them have all wished very soon after that they had held out for the turbo!! good luck and look forward to you in the MK4 section lol.
-
I know that the 2.0 is the highline on the continent, but I didnt realise they made a 2.0 16v, you sure about this?

im sure the some if not most 2.0 Mk4 gti's are 16v, i looked at a couple before i bought my 1.8t, one had the engine cover removed and id defo say it looked like 2 cam shafts...... may be wrong im sure some one else will be in to confirm or ridicule this lol.
-
You can not get a UK spec 2.0 16v Mk4 I cant tell you that now.
-
I agree, no such thing. For some unknown reason VW took a backward step with that one. Can't understant why, a 2.0 16v would have been a scream.....
-
i stand corrected, and humbbly withdraw for this thread lol, only an 8V thats mentle were in the 00's now not the 80's :undecided:
