Title: MK4 central locking - locks then pops back up - adjustment?
Post by: killingtime on 18 November 2007, 10:32
[Mk4 02 GT TDI 150 3Dr]

Hi,

New to the forum, hope you can help with this central locking prob.

When I lock the car from either the alarm fob or the drivers side door console, the nearside front door lock goes down then pops back up.

Does this randomly.

I read an earlier post on this and adjustment was suggested. What is there to adjust? There's nothing in the Haynes manual about adjusting CL (could have missed it).

Is this a DIY problem or does it have to go to the garage?

Thanks

you have a faulty door lock module i reckon and they ain't cheap IIRC - you're looking at at least £70 maybe more

I've done some more research.

It appears that the soldering on the microswitches in the lock module are to blame in many cases. There's a post in another forum that details how to fix this, but you have to take the door apart to get to the module, glass out and everything.

Thanks.
