Title: Suggestions and pics of aftermarket RCD 300 replacements
Post by: DrT on 16 November 2007, 11:39
yo all,

RCD300 is not very interesting. What replacement options are there that don't ruin the clean look of our lovely GTIs.

Don't need sat nav, really just bluetooth and ipod connectivity really.

Could we have some pics here too.

DNX 7200 is a superb piece of kit. Reverse camera, bluetooth, HD Sat Nav, Ipod, DVD player and all work great on the 7" touchscreen

looks good. what colour is the mounting facia on the kenwood.

I know they also do the DDX7029. Is this any good?

Also, does anyone have the reverse camera??

The mounting fascia on the Kenwood is virtually the same as the golf dash, so unless your nose is a couple of inches away you can't tell that it isn't OEM (apart from the Kenwood sign )

DDX7029 is virtually the same apart from not having the Hard drive GPS function. See link below.

I have the reverse camera and unless you have your head against the floor you cannot see the camera itself and means you don't have to have the annoying reverse bleep or the four spots on your bumper. See pic below.

Hurdy,
Were you really in the garage at 1.57am taking pictures of your bumper cam?

Don't you sleep, I often see posts from you at unearthly hours of the night?

And when you reverse out of your garage every day is the first thing you see on the camera that 'patterntastic' carpet in your garage?

Must give you a bit of a

LOL!
No I wasn't in the garage at that time of night. I had the pic already on photobucket from a previous thread.
I was on nights at work and tend to log on when having my meal break/coffee breaks.

I reverse INTO the garage and use the start of the carpet as my guide to stop. The garage is 30 foot long and so the washing machine, dryer etc are in there and the wife would get cold feet when she comes out of the kitchen without it.
