Title: Power cut out then reappears

hi all,

When im idling in london jams and the m25 after 10-15 mins the car juders a bit then stalls with no power it has happened when im going along after ive turned on to a slip road and if i keep my foot down to stop the power all going it reappears with twice the force. ive noticed that the temp gauge is creeping just past the middle when this happens also when i top up my water every now and then it looks like the water is coming out of the cap slightly. all round the expansion tank theres dried up rubbish that wasnt there before. but it looks fine with no cracks etc.

and another thing my fan sounds like its grating some times and making unusual noises coud this all be caused by the fan?

hmm, get yourself a new header tank cap, sounds like the system isnt sealing so it cant presurise and boils over.  Also check the fan by running 12v tro it direct from the battery, but if it sounds a bit crunchi I'd just bin it and get another!

thanks for the help il buy both in a min wheres the best place to get a fan and can i fit it myself?

I have a fan for sale it is second hand,if you want £10 as for the cap buy it brand new from either sg smith at crown point or cruise to brixton and go to gsf they will have one.

damn it i only come on to the internet rarely i bought a fan and cap but its the wrong one never seen anything like it on mine weird. il get a cap from crown point thanks for help meg
