Hi ppl, just wondered if 19" alloys will go on to my future mk 4, i had 18's on my gt tdi i had last year and it drove fine, will 19's be ok too???
prob be on 225/40/19 rubber, or will it need 225/35/19 ???
thx for any pointers

19's will fit; would have though it would be the 25's you need.
have a look further down the list as Ridge gave a link to a good site which works out the correct tyre size

yeah mate 19s go on no probs im rolling proof , you have to go for 225/35/19 tyres to avoid any issues , mines lowered about 180mm on air ride and the wheels just go round on full drop

Strange, that one.....
Rochford tyres recommend 235 35 19, but 225 35 19's are a closer match to the original rolling circumference (according to my trusty tyre calculator) & they're cheaper to boot!!

good stuff, get them ordered now then

Simcity- will yours drive and steer etc on full drop???? i take it you havent had any arch mods done??!
-
simcity's motor will just about drive in a straight line on full drop, gettin round corners can be a problem though! i know its fully driveable when its down about 100mm maybe a bit more, if you lower it a sensible amount 19's aint a problem. im simcity's mate by the way!

I have only got 18's so on coilys what drop do you recon i have got before a start getting rubbage?? do the wheels sit in to the arches once lowered because i want as low as poss but still may have to carry 4 ppl so dont want to be knockin me arches !! cheers
-
If you get 19's you will also need to ensure the alloys aren't too wide. If you do get anything wider than 8.5" then you will need to look at altering the offset!
-
i got 18's on mine with the coilovers as low as they'll go on the back and i got 10mm spacers with no problems
-
my wheels are 225's will they be ok?
what about the front what sort of drop have ya got so it will still go round a corner??
-
yeah mine are 225's i get the odd scrub on the front as it is down low to match the rear, if you've got coilovers though at least if you go too low and aren't happy with the amount that it catches you can raise it up until your at a suitable height with minimal catching
