Hi all, so I bought an exhaust off a mate of mine. Was told it came off another mk2 so should fit straight on no problems. After many attempts of getting it on, it just won't seem to fit! Firstly, it's alot longer than the original so it sticks out the end far. Secondly, it is too far over to the left if I moved it that way and would bang off the side of the... chassis I think. Pictures of ones I've seen have been at a kind of angle diaganolly.
Will this be impossible to fit or is there a way? Perhaps some cutting or welding the hangars onto a different part of the exhaust?

Thanks :)

Cutting and welding could make just about anything fit, it depends on how much cutting and welding you are prepared to do.
Your photos don't look like a Mk2 rear box to me.

Is it a 16v vs 8v fitment issue ??

that looks like a mk3 to me m8y ! deffo not a mk2
for all the hassle involved you would be better off buying a mk2 item :)

Thanks for the replies, I only paid a tenner for it so I think I'll just cut my losses and buy a new one. Any recommendations please? :) Something that'll definately fit! haha
