I'm not usually a fan of leather but they do look awesome. Off topic here... did you get the R32 chrome trim bits direct from VW ? How much ?
-
The aluminium dash was purchased from www.vagparts.com for around ?230ish
-
Gary car looks awesome inside and out..
I'm sure I'd seen you'd posted in a thread on the uk-mkiv site regarding a guy who had got a leather recaro interior cheaply and you were asking if he could help you... Did he? :)
-
Yes, Stewart it was, thats who I bought it off as he has a 3 door and didn't want to go to the hassle of removing the leather covers to put on his cloth recaros as he would of had to cut a hole out for the extra handle on the side that the 3 door front seats have. His misfortune was my good fortune!
-
Your definately lucky! I'm not allowed to modify my car so its standard. So when I got it I just got as many factory options as I could, still love it, but would love it revo'd etc even more :)
-
nice matey i like!!!!, been after some 99 spec recaros for mine, but there like rocking shate!!!, so may look into a leather retrim otion as it looks very posh!!!!
;D
-
Are you by any chance from Nottingham?????? If so, I saw your car tonight going towards Sneinton????????? If not......... :-\
-
No mate, not me ???
-
Tis one that looks exactly like yours then Same colour, wheels, exhaust. Ah well
-
Looks really nice GaryM, very smart indeed.
I'm going to admit, I'm more than just a little bit jealous :)
-
Yeah i like them, i like them alot!!!!
My mate has got that interior in his 1.8T, but his is the cream version but it is a nicefinish.
Have you found that because they are quite chunky seats that you have lost a bit of rear legroom compared to standard.
Also were the heated seats hard to wire in or did you already have them?
PS can't see if you've got one or not, but you just need the W8 interior light to finish off the interior, then you'll be able to see your swanky new interior at night.
Looks nice though

I'm pretty sure he does have the W8 light. I stand guilty as charged of browsing the uk-mkivs.net forum :P
-
If anyones interested there is a handy fitting guide in March's edition of Volkswagen Driver which shows you how to fit and wire the W8 light, and part numbers and costs,
I bet most dealers will be sold out of them now, reminds me of when the ford puma came out and all the fiesta boys bought up the solid aluminium puma Gear knobs, are the good old days.

LOL, yes I do have the W8 light!
I would love an R32 steering wheel and Bora vents though funds are disappearing very fast!
I not sure on the leg room Ant, though thinking about it the seats must take a little more room as they are pretty chunky. Heated switches were already in place, I changed from the VW sports leather.
