Title: Buying advice

I am new to this forum and new to golfs. I am looking to buy a golf at the moment. The asking price was 1795, i got the guy down to Ã‚£1700. Do you think this is a good price for the car. I am going to give a deposit tommorow morning so any advice before then would be much appreciated.

Nice 8v though.

Have a look on ebay there was a nice colour concept with full leather going.

Please make sure both the airbag and ABS lights come on when the car starts then both go off shortly after. If one or the other stays on or doesn;t come on at all then walk away from it. Check when the last cam belt change was too

Thanks for your response. I have bought the car, got it for 1600. It has had a cambelt change, full service, full stamped volkswagen service history and i get a 3 month warranty with it.

A couple more questions now to do with modding it slightly.

What is the best suspension (at a reasonable price) to lower the car?
How much would a garage charge to do it?

I'm picking the car up on monday, so im not quite there yet. After driving around in a 1.4 renault clio RT J reg for the last year, the golf is gonna be amazing!
