Any one know any good insurers that are reasonable for for my age or around?
Im 17 and basically just looking for cheap insurance on my Mk2 1.8 golf gti 8v!!
Any other young drivers that are insured what who are you with and how much is it costing you?
Any help would be appreciated!!

my 1.6 driver will be £2261 next month and i was quoted £3000 for an 8v gti so you'd better get saving!
That was using confused.com... others came out more.

Best advice I can give would be shop around I'm afraid!
Try confused.com, moneysupermarket, tesco etc - and also direct line as they don't use any of those - but also think about calling some other non-online companies too. When I was 18/19 my friends and I all had similar cars, same area etc - but a company that was cheap for one would be expensive for another - so just 'cos we got a good quote from one company they might be rubbish for you!
Oh yeah, but what ever company you go with expect to have your trousers pulled down with a Gti at 17!

Bell/elephant/admiral seem to be the best for young drivers on (relatively) high insurance grouped cars
-
bell quoted me +£5000 lol

mate, youve got no chance
i searched for 3 days solid as i saw a cheap valver in my area, if i could find a quote for under 3k for a gti, i would have a gti  expect to pay £5k+ easily...

You got 2 hopes of getting a decent quote on a GTi being 17.
When I first passed me test and had a 1.4 Clio I was with Bell, they where the cheapest.
Now with Kwik Fit.

I'm 17 and I'm paying £650 fully comp on my 88 8v GTI, but then I do live in THE lowest risk area!

as parker said, All about quin direct. Very Very cheap for young people, just to the point insurance, i found it any where up to £2000 cheaper than other places. Infact i got a £800 quote from there when i got quotes in the region of £3000 in other places. I think they have policies of gti's tho, (dont qoute me on that)

lv insurance best for young drivers no comparison.
