this is my first time in the mk 2 ( found my way from mk4) picked up my mk2 8v gti today
im thinking of getting it lowered and was wondering what was the best for a mk2
i dont want to go to low and dont want to spend a arm n a leg
its a h reg 91 in near as new condition with the only mod a new cd player and still got the vw first aid box
should i just keep it as it is ? will i be burned and sent to hell for doing any mods to it

40mm drop on springs is a good start. A good setup is Eibach springs and the Sachs Boge Turbo dampers.

You can do it cheaper though as the 40mm springs will work with standard dampers, I already had some sachs dampers and got a set of cough...gmax...cough springs for £40 nearly new. Not the best but a cheap and easy way to get a subtle drop.

I was thinking of a 40mm drop for my new car, its still got the original setup and its like driving a boat!

Anyone got experience of fitting the budget sets on ebay?
